Erlang: The movie

No one can make geeky films like Ericsson! Check out this Erlang film from 1990 or so (starring the four main developers of Erlang):

God that was tedious! I only got to about half way before suicidal tendencies became overwhelming.
Just to think I was working in telecoms in the early 90's and I new guys at least 4.2 times as geeky as the guy in the stripped pullover, and approximately 7.535 times as smarmy as the other guy.
Well, at least it wasn't the eighties.

-"yes, finally"

omg, that was just brilliant; an avant-garde mash-up of Monty Pythons and 'waiting for Godot' via the exciting world of telephony!!

that's it - all my human-crushing robots will use Erlang from now on!

I was really impressed with the capabilities of Erlang, both in the short "Erlang: The movie" and the much longer and drier presentational video (which discussed making changes to a running system's code).

This is all exciting stuff for me. I have been researching programming languages with a view to writing my own multi-paradigm one for many years, but have never imagined that you could have what Joe Armstrong has called 'Concurrent-oriented programming'.

This has many applications. I think it could be of great use to videogames, particularly MMORPGs.

Thanks for making these videos availiable as I couldn't get the original downloaded version to work on my Mac.
